Moving posts from one WordPress blog to another

  I would like to move some posts on one of my WordPress.com blogs to another of my WordPress.com blogs. Is it possible to do this while keeping all text and photos intact in each post? Do the comments, likes, etc. move with them? I only want to move select posts, not the entire blog.

  Does the export process save a file of my post somewhere that I must then go retrieve to import to the new location or is there a more seamless solution?

  To move only selected posts see here please > Export http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/ and then Import > http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/#importing-content-from-another-platform-or-wordpress-blog

  The XML export files are copies (not originals) which you upload to your desktop and then import from there.

  You can, of course, copy/paste from the Text editor for each individual post, but note that you have to add titles, categories and tags yourself to each one. And if the two blogs are not using the same theme and layout, there could be formatting glitches.

  Thanks, everybody!

  The WordPress directions on importing and exporting didn’t make it clear that it was copies I was moving around, not original files. I’m much more comfortable working with copies, for obvious reasons.

  raincoaster, that is precisely what I’m going to do: make sure both blogs match and then copy and paste. Thank you so much for helping me relax and put my mind at ease. Each of my posts have many hours of work put into them, so I’m protective and wary.
