Moving posts to archives
-
Hi there,
My posts are stacking on top of one another and making the home page super long. On other sites i see that people move older posts to an archive where readers can go and click a link to read the old post. How do I do that for my blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We control exactly how many posts appear in the front page of our blogs by the number we insert here > Settings > Reading
Blog pages show at most __posts
Click “save changes”
Note that every time we publish a post the software automatically posts it to the Archives pages and to any Categories and Tags pages we have assigned to the posts — we do nothing. -
I just thought of something else you may find helpful. There are several ways we can split content in posts and the most common one is to insert “the more tag” into posts. The result is the beginning or an excerpt on the front page of the blog followed by a link readers can use to read the full article on it’s own page.

You have one long Post that can cause confusion to visitors – many news sites have the last Post full length and the rest shortened – most people here use the More Tag to make it more friendly to visit – I use the More Tag very viciously and have no more than two paragraphs per Post on the main page – makes the site easy to page down –
Try the More Tag – easy to do

ah ha! Thanks so much for both comments. I read a lot of blogs but this is my first one. Thanks!
