Moving Posts to New Pages
-
Hi there,
I couldn’t find an answer to this one so I thought I’d ask here. I hope I make mysef understood!
I have a food blog. Cuurently I am writing each new recipe onto the home page = which is not desirable any longer. I would like to have a static home page (which I know how to do) but, I want to move my current recipe posts onto a new page (we’ll call it ‘dinners in’). I know how to create ‘Dinners In’, but I don’t know if what I want is possible in terms of moving my stuff there.
My other question is, If I did change my home page to a static page, what would happen to the posts curretly on it?Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oh, you’ve really done things the hard way. What you want really is to write these as regular blog Posts, and then use tags or categories to put them as “Dinners In” or whatever. Put the Category widget in your sidebar and people click on “Dinners In” and up come all those posts.
This will give you a LOT more Google appeal, you’ll rank much higher in searches and so on.

For what it’s worth, we see two or three people a day doing things this way. It’s going to be a pain to copy/paste these all into new blog Posts, but the sooner you do it the less work overall, and the sooner it can pay off for you. If you have a tabbed header, there’s even a workaround so that you can have a tab go to your Category page.

Oh Cut and Paste, ok. Fun!
Thanks for your help. When you say theres a workarund for the tab to go to the category page, can you give me more of a clue on that? This is all really above my abilities as a nontechie

Here you go:
Just use the URL of your local category page as that link. And, obviously, you have to be using a theme with a tabbed header, as you are.

ok i have a problem similar here and i need your help. I have a chat on my blog and I
have made a separate page for my chat, but I don’t know how to get the chat box on
the chat page. The chat is on my home page and I really want it on my chat page so
that it is easier. I have tried to copy and paste but it doesn’t work. I also have a mini
ipod on there that plays music and i want it on the sidebar, but it shows up as a post
and I am really lost here.
