Moving Previous Posts to a New Page withing the Website

I have been pouring over this for hours and can’t figure it out!

I am trying to move posts from my specified post page to different pages that I have created that are more specific. For example: I want to move a “What’s in my diaper bag?” blog post from the “Blog Posts” page to my new “Mama Hacks” page. I created categories and assigned the posts to the correct one and then added them to the menu however they still will not move. I am sure I am just missing something but I cannot find it!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks for getting in touch. I think the easiest way to do this is to actually link a specific category in to your site menu.

For example, all of your “momma hacks” get assigned with that category in the post settings.

Then, you set up a custom menu, adding that category. When someone clicks on that from the menu they’ll see all of your posts with the assigned category displayed in the same place.

You’d want to remove the current page that you’ve already put in the menu.

Does that sound like what you’re trying to do? Let me know and I’ll send the instructions to set up the menu step-by-step.

    Yes!! That would be great!

  • Pages are another form of content, like Posts, so in our system they can’t contain Posts.

But, you’re right, Categories are the way to go because they have their own archive pages, like https://thefurrowfam.blog/category/mama-hacks/

The only problem here is that the Mama Hacks you have in your menu is the Page https://thefurrowfam.blog/mama-hacks/ not the Category archive.

To fix that, edit the menu again https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ remove the Mama Hacks Page, and add the Mama Hacks Category instead.
