Moving site content from one WordPress domain to another …

  Hi, I set up a WordPress site some time ago at stephensander.wordpress.com which I later re-branded as The Vue Post and pointed it to http://www.thevuepost.com.

  Recently I realsied that I would like to use stephensander.wordpress.com for another site, and I registered thevuepost.wordpress.com with WordPress and I am wondering whether there is an easy way of transferring all the content (pages and images) from stephensander.wordpress.com to thevuepost.wordpress.com so I can point that to http://www.thevuepost.com instead?

  I have been looking around, but can’t seem to find an immediate answer to this.

  Hello Stephen!

  If you would like to move the content from one WordPress.com site to another, you can do so with an import/export.

  Here are the instructions:

  IMPORT
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

  EXPORT
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

  The process is a simple one since both your sites are hosted at WordPress.com.

  Thank you for the prompt reply! Seems easy enough 😃 What will happen to images and image links if I use this process? Will those update automatically to the new WordPress domain or would I have to go through the blog and proceess those manually?

  Hey Stephen!

  If your images are attached to posts or pages, they be included as attachments in the export…and then added to the new site during the import.

  I do see several of images are unattached in your Media Library. Take a look at this:
  https://stephensander.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php?mode=list&orderby=parent&order=asc

  Anyplace where you see “Unattached,” you will click Attached and add the image to a post. If you don’t this, those images will not move over, and you’ll have to do that manually.
