Moving Site from GoDaddy Site Builder

I currently have a site with Site Builder and am not very familiar with WordPress but need to expand on the capabilities of my current site for ads, content…
We don’t want to lose what we’ve already put together and are concerned with doing something wrong or the ease of making site changes with WordPress.
I’m looking for guidance and reassurance.

  • Hi there!

I completely understand why you’d want to move your website from GoDaddy site builder to a flexible and powerful platform like WordPress.

WordPress comes in two flavours – self-hosted version (available for download on WordPress.org) and the fully-hosted version which we use at WordPress.com.

Following documents will help you in choosing the version of WordPress for your website –
    WordPress.org- https://codex.wordpress.org/New_To_WordPress_-_Where_to_Start
    WordPress.com – https://learn.wordpress.com/

You’ll want to use the GoDaddy hosting service(self-hosted WordPress) if you have already paid for hosting there.

Switching from Site Builder to WordPress is a little time-consuming process and there is no easy way to make the shift. You will have to manually backup your Website Builder content. It is not possible to automatically import content from Website Builder.

Here’s the document to help you move your website to WordPress-

but need to expand on the capabilities of my current site for ads,
You can apply for the WordAds here- https://wordads.co/signup/

Hope this helps and let us know if you have any more questions.
