Hi @denicehamm
I understand that wordpress.org now does web hosting and I no longer deed my Godaddy hosting platform? Is this true?
Godaddy is a web hosting service provider company, which provides you a hosting space where you store your website files and host your website.
Whereas, WordPress.org is a website from where you can download the open source WordPress software for free. (Also known as self hosted WordPress)
Once you’ve downloaded the WordPress software you need a web hosting where you can install this software and make your site live.
How can I transfer what I have on godaddy to wordpress.org?
Please note that WordPress.org does not provide hosting services, So you cant transfer your site from Godaddy to WordPress.org
These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only.
For self-hosted version of WordPress you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:

Hope that Helps!
