moving some posts to new blog

Hi, I want to move some stuff from my old blog onto this new one to keep the topic of the old blog on topic. Can I do this or do I have to move the whole blog over to the new page via export/import?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

YOu could export the entire thing and then import it into the new blog, and then go through and use the bulk delete option on the edit post page, but it all depends on how many posts you are talking about wanting to move to the new blog. That is what is going to determine if the export/import thing is going to be more or less work than copy and paste.

Guess I’ll copy and paste since most of what I want to export has images in it and would need to be imported manually to the new blog. Thanks for the help.

You can leave the images on the old blog, and they will hot link to the new blog unless you do not want them to show the other blog address in the URL. That way you would not have to correct the URL’s in the posts.

I always recommend when you copy/paste you do it in the HTML editor. and paste INTO the HTML editor in the new blog. It isn’t always required, but it does seem to prevent issues.

I tried to simply copy and paste an image and it did not work, maybe I will have to try the HTML editor. I went and imported my whole old blog like a dumb*ss and now I have my full old blog with no pictures. Most of my images were saved before my computer crashed and I lost all my old images, will that make a difference? They are still saved in my media library.

If they are in the media library AND the blog where they’re hosted is not private, it’ll work okay. If you set the blog to private, you will have to download the images and re-upload them, changing the file names.
