Moving Stats in Third-Party Host Transfer
-
Is it possible to transfer stats, comments and ratings when moving to a third-party host? The stats part is the most important party of my query.

Hi there, are you moving to a self-hosted WordPress site? If so, as long as you export and import your site correctly, comments on pages and posts should be preserved along with the post and page content.
We do have a tool to transfer stats to a self-hosted WordPress site that is using the Jetpack plugin. The stats transfer works as long as the content is the same on both sites.
We don’t have the ability to transfer post ratings.

Just to clarify, if you do need your stats transferred, please make a request here when you’re ready and we can take care of it for you.
Just let me know if you need further help.

So with your help it should transfer to any third-party/self-hosting such as bluehost, etc? That would be awesome. Do I just comment here or is there a particular tool/function I should contact?

Yes, the hosting company doesn’t matter as long as you have the Jetpack plugin installed.

You can either comment back here in this thread or open a new Staff Answers thread when you’re ready.

I just signed up with BlueHost and they will be transferring my stuff from you guys within the week. What do I need to do to ensure the transfer of stats happens now?

We can transfer your stats once:
– your posts and pages have been imported into your new site
– Jetpack has been activatedJust confirm the addresses of the two sites when you’re ready. (i.e. yourgroovysite.wordpress.com / yourgroovysite.com)
