I need my subscribers moved from brooksfirstmarathon.com to brooksnextmarathon.com, Jetpack has been installed on both.

    Howdy,

I’m happy to transfer the users who have subscribed to your blog either by email or via the WordPress.com Reader.

Please keep in mind that while your email subscribers will continue to receive email notifications of new posts as before, WordPress.com followers will only see new posts in the Reader. They will not receive email updates unless they subscribe to receive those on your new site. You might want to post a notice on your old site about your upcoming move to keep your readers informed.

Can you please reply back if you have any questions or let me know you would like to go ahead and move your subscribers?

    Cheers,
    Caroline

Yes please go ahead with it. Thank you!

  • Your subscribers and followers have been transferred as requested. Just a heads-up that as Caroline mentioned, any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they’ll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.

You might also want to consider a Site Redirect upgrade to automatically have visitors to brooksfirstmarathon.com sent to brooksnextmarathon.com, and ensure that new subscribers sign up on the right blog.

Best of luck with your self-hosted site!

Sorry to be a pest, is there any way to have this reversed? The client wants to stick to the old WordPress.com site she had for the time being.

Subscribers that were at brooksfirstmarathon.com (wordpress hosted) were recently moved to brooksnextmarathon.com (self-hosted), but the client wants to know if she can reverse it.

  • I’ve moved the subscribers and followers back as requested. Just let me know if you need further help.
