moving subscribers
-
I just moved hosts and want to transfer my subscribers to my new .org blog. I heard I can do this through jet pack but I can’t figure out how.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Sorry also, Im trying to add a top posts widget and all of that information is lost as well. Can jet pack help also?

Same with stats. Basically I just really want all my existing info, subscribers, comments, stats, everything, from my wordpress.com to my .org install.
Please help!! Thanks -

Yes. You need Jetpack for this. I’m seeing that you have Jetpack connected to your new site. So you should be in good shape for followers transfer.

I’m not sure I understand. Jetpack does not install widgets. You are probably going to want to look for a plugin that does what you want.

Stats can be merged. However, your post IDs MUST match or everything will be screwed up. Stats are URL dependent, so if you don’t have the same URLs between your old and new site, they can’t merge correctly.
Does that make sense?

In short, I can transfer your subscribers no problem. But I need to know if your post IDs match exactly before I can merge your stats.

I just logged into my .com account and checked on a couple of my posts, and the permalink is the same as the posts in my .org. Is this the same as matching post ID”s?

Can you tell me what the ID# is for this post:

Go to the edit page for that post and the number should be in the URL.

I’m just noticing that I only have 38 subscribers. On wordpress.com in my subscribe by email widget it used to say “join 150 subscribers” and now it only says 38. Did I just lose some subscribers because I switched to .org?
Also when everything is done do I need to “close” my .com account. -
The number on the follower widget includes any followers from connected publicize services such as Twitter or Facebook. We can’t actually transfer those, since they are a part of another service. But once you have everything reconnected at your site’s new “home” they should reappear assuming that your URL is the same.

Happy to help.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Otherwise, thanks for using WordPress.
