Moving Subscribers
-
I’ve recently moved to a self-hosted site (myhartjie.co.za) and am struggling to transfer my subscribers who followed my blog through following it in the Reader. I’ve installed the Jetpack plug-in, but it only seems to be of any use with regards to e-mail subscribers. Is it all possible to retain my followers or must they all re-subscribe? From what I’ve read WordPress can help move them to the new site?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Provided you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and you post the relevant URL(s) into a forum thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site Do that now please as I have tagged this thread for their attention.

I have transferred your WordPress.com subscribers and email followers as requested.
Please note that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they’ll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.
You might think about setting up a Site Redirect for your WordPress.com site at myhartjie.wordpress.com to send your site visitors to your new domain. Otherwise, people will still be able to subscribe on your old site.
Please let me know if you would also like your stats merged and I’ll take care of that for you as well.

Hi, thank you. I am still figuring out redirecting the site, but can you please merge my stats for me?

I’ve taken care of your stats for you, and you should see them on your new site now.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the Site Redirect.
