Moving Subscribers

  WordPress.com is taking me in circles. The website says to contact them to have subscribers automatically transferred from WordPress.com to self hosting, but when you click the “contact us” option, it takes you to a Help page and no where can I contact someone for help. Extremely irritating. How do I transfer subscribers?

  Provided you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and you post the relevant URL(s) into a forum thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site Do that now please as I have tagged this thread for their attention.

  Jetpack is already installed. I am trying to transfer from http://jessiwallace.wordpress.com to http://lifeabundant-blog.com

  I am being patient, but am curious as to how long (estimated) the transfer usually takes? Just so I know to not make a blog post that no one will see. I want to plan accordingly. Thanks!

  Hi there,

  I have moved over your WordPress.com subscribers and stats to http://lifeabundant-blog.com as requested.

  Please keep in mind that while your email subscribers will continue to receive email notifications of new posts as before, WordPress.com followers will only see new posts in the Reader. They will not receive email updates unless they subscribe to receive those on your new site. You might want to post a notice on your old site about your upcoming move to keep your readers informed.

  I have email subscribers claiming they’re not receiving emails. The only ones receiving them are new subscribers… any thoughts on how long it’s supposed to take to be active? I’ve been blogging under the assumption the subscribers are getting the emails.

  The migration is pretty instantaneous, and I can confirm that all the email followers have been migrated, as you can see here:

  How are you hearing that you are not having emails sent out, and how are you able to determine that only new subscribers?
