Moving subscribers after site is already migrated to .org
-
Recently we moved loveyogastudios.com from wordpress.com to a self-hosted wordpress install.
After the fact we realized that the export/import doesn’t include the subscribers (in Jetpack) from the wordpress.com account. At this point, I followed the instructions to migrate but it seems since the .org is no longer a .com I can’t access this.
How do I go about importing that list?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Once you’re all linked up with Jetpack you can visit your blogs in WordPress.com:
http://wordpress.com/my-blogs/
Under your new WordPress.org site, select Manage. In that pane, you’ll see a space to select a WordPress.com site to transfer your followers from!

It sounds like you had trouble with that. Can you tell me what happened?
-
I gave it some time, and now, after connecting Jetpack and finally being able to access my site from the wordpress.com side (loveyoga.wordpress.com) I see the option to migrate. I select the correct site to send to, click Migrate and I get an error message that says “Only blog owners can migrate subscribers”.
Kind of lost since I am the blog owner.
-
Checked again today and I’m still getting the error on wordpress.com that Only blog owners can migrate subscribers.
Any chance that support could take a look at this?

Hi @sosympl,
Just to clarify, you would like your subscribers moved from loveyogastudio.wordpress.com to the self-hosted site http://www.loveyogaalbany.com. Is that correct?
-
Yes. There should be 210 or so subscribers on loveyogastudio.wordpress.com and loveyogaalbany.com or loveyogastudios.com (self hosted).
-
Hi!
I’m not seeing that many subscribers on loveyogastudio.wordpress.com. You can see the current subscribers here:
https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=15711665&blog_subscribers&unit=1
The site http://www.loveyogaalbany.com does have quite a few subscribers as shown here:
https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=40056329&blog_subscribers&unit=1
Were the subscribers already moved by chance?
-
Okay, yes the site was loveyogastudios.com, and was hosted at .com. Those are the same you’re seeing with loveyogaalbany.com (two domains, same site).
I guess this is the issue, I need those subscribers moved from loveyogastudios.com (wordpress.com) to loveyogastudios.com (wordpress.org).
Sorry if I confused. I assumed loveyoga.wordpress.com was the actual WP install for that vanity domain.
-
Hi!
The subscribers are already setup on your self-hosted site (WordPress.org). The following URL is the subscriber list for site 40056329, which corresponds to your Jetpack site.
https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=40056329&blog_subscribers&unit=1
Perhaps I’m misunderstanding. Can you elaborate on what is not working as expected with your self-hosted subscribers?
-
When I visit the URL you list above, I see the subscribers.
When I log in to loveyogastudios.com which uses that Jetpack account (but which isn’t on wordpress.com), I go to Site Stats and it says I have 9 subscribers.
Any way to send screenshots or something so you can better see what’s happening?
-
Could you upload a screenshot to loveyogastudio.wordpress.com so I can take a look? Screenshot instructions here:
-
When I log in to loveyogastudios.com (which is self hosted) this is what I see for subscribers (bottom left):
When I log in to loveyogalbany.com (which has an account on wordpress.com but is now pointed at the loveyogastudios.com WP install) I see this list of subscribers:
Here is an example of the error I’m getting when I go to Settings and try to transfer subscribers:
I can’t get a screenshot of the other error because this error prevents it. This must have to do with the wordpress.com domain (loveyogaalbany.com) now being pointed at a self hosted site.
-
Thanks for clarifying! You’re correct – all of the subscribers are currently listed on loveyogaalbany.com. You would like them moved to the self-hosted site loveyogastudios.com. Is that correct? Sorry for the confusion!

This should be all fixed up now. The subscribers for loveyogastudios.com can be seen here:
