Moving Subscribers From 1 WordPress Blog to Another
-
Hi!
I’m interested in combining two WordPress blogs and don’t want to lose subscribers in the process. Is there a way to transfer subscribers from one blog to the other on my own, or is this something that the WordPress team has to handle?
Thanks for any and all advice!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. If it’s between two WordPress.com blogs staff can move them for you. When you’re ready to make the move, just start a new thread or post in this one if it’s still open, asking staff to move your subscribers from blog A to blog B (give the full URLs of both blogs starting with http://) Then add “modlook” to the tags area and wait for staff to respond.

Keep in mind that if you combine the blogs, links from other websites to your now-unused blog will probably give an error after the move, and staff also won’t be able to move people following your blog via RSS or who have it bookmarked in their browsers, so it might be a good idea to also buy the Site Redirect upgrade to automatically direct traffic from the unused address to the new combined one. http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/

That’s exactly what I thought. Luckily, the blog I’d like to shut down only has a handful of followers, all following through WordPress, so the switch should be quick and painless. I will keep the Site Redirect in mind though!
Thank you!
