Hello @pinkyp2013,
If you want to move your Blog to your hosting account, you can use WordPress.ORG and then follow the instructions given here: https://move.wordpress.com/, to migrate your site from WordPress.COM to WordPress.ORG.And then, you can create a sub-domain like blog.example.com which will be pointing to your WordPress.ORG blog and then, add link link to your sites menu bar with the text “BLOG”.
You can also buy a Guided Transfer upgrade, if you do not want to do the migration yourself.
_____________If you do not want to move to another host and want to say on WordPress.COM,
i. You can just add the link of your blog(http://veronikalesnakova.wordpress.com/) to your site’s menubar, with the text BLOG.
OR
ii. You can create a sub-domain like blog.example.com(if you have registered a domain like example.com) and then map that sub-domain to your WordPress.com blog and then add the link to your site’s menu-bar.
Read this guide to map a sub-domain: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-subdomain/Hope this helps :)

Hi otpidusprime,
Thank you for your answer! I would like create subdirectory on my website for example http://www.example.com/blog and install brand new WordPress there.
I know how to extract and import full content of my blog into new self-hosted WordPress install which will be sitting in http://www.example.com/blog.However, what I’m not sure about is the process of redirecting every single blog post from my current blog into http://www.example.com/blog.
Is there any easy way of doing it without losing SEO?
-
If you are migrating away from your current blog domain(http://veronikalesnakova.wordpress.com/) to a new domain, then you will loose your SEO.
So if you do not want to loose your SEO, i would recommend you create sub-domain like blog.example.com and then map it to your wordpress.com blog as i mentioned before, and then set this sub domain as your primary domain so that your blog address will redirect from http://veronikalesnakova.wordpress.com/ to blog.example.com, so that your visitors will always see “blog.example.com” on the address bar.
-
If I used this redirect https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ provided by WordPress itself to redirect my current blog to http://www.example.com/blog – would that work or would I still lose my SEO?

Yes I know that but the only thing I do not know is how to redirect my old domain to new domain – is this https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ the only way of redirecting old to new domain?
-
If you have already mapped a domain(registered from an external registrar) to your wordpress.com site, then set your new domain as your primary domain by following the instructions given here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#setting-the-primary-domain, so that your old wordpress.com address(http://veronikalesnakova.wordpress.com/) will redirect to your new domain.
If you have registered a domain via WordPress.com then you don’t have to worry about anything, the new address is automatically connected to your wordpress site and redirected from the old .wordpress.com subdomain.
-
So either way because I’m on free WordPress plan (example.wordpress.com), I have to pay to redirect my blog to my personal website. There are no plugins that will allow me to do that – is that correct?
-
Yes you will have to upgrade to be able to redirect to your custom domain.
We cannot upload custom plugins on WordPress.COM. We can only use the inbuilt plugins given here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/. And because there are no inbuilt plugins to redirect domains on WordPress.COM, it is not possible to do that for free.
-
I understand now! Okay so, once I purchase this –
https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/, I will be able to redirect http://veronikalesnakova.wordpress.com/ to http://www.example.com/blog
or is there anything else I will have to do? -
Follow these steps:
1.
Purchase an upgrade2.
Create a sub domain(blog.example.com) from your existing top level domain(example.com). And then, map this sub-domain to your wordpress.com blog if you have registered example.com from an external registrar and set it as a primary domain. But in this case you have to stay on WordPress.COM, but you wont loose the SEO.OR
If you do not want to stay on wordpress.com, then you can register a domain(example.blog) on wordpress.com point that domain to your site hosted using wordpress.org.
You can read your options to map your domain outside wordpress.com here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/, and set this domain as your primary address so that http://veronikalesnakova.wordpress.com/ redirects to example.blog. You wont loose you SEO here too.NOTE: You cannot map http://www.example.com/blog to wordpress.com because mapping sub-directories is not allowed.
Read about it here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-subdomain/#not-supported -
