Moving the 'Follow' button in Manifest theme

Can I move the ‘follow’ (email notification) button to the top of the page on Manifest theme ? there only seems to be an option to put it in either footer 1 or footer 2. To be honest, I think it’s really not at all obvious that its there when it’s in either of those positions and would be much better at the top of the page near or in the main header. Is there a work around that makes this possible ?

Your theme (Manifest – http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/manifest/) can only display widgets in the footer. That’s how it is designed and you can’t change it. The only way to have your follow widget display in the sidebar is to select a theme that supports sidebars.
A possible workaround is to create a page titled “Follow blog” or something similar and to include the Blog Subscription Shortcode on that page. The link to that page will then appear in your menu at the top of your blog where it is more visible.
