Moving to a host

  Hello, I am trying to work out how I can now move my site to a hosted site as I have bought http://www.arabiancharts.com years ago and it get redirected to arabiancharts.wordpress.com which I don’t want… I have been told that I need to ask for a Complete Back Up file so I can set it all up properly. Please advise.

  I too would like to move my site to my own domain, is it just a mater of paying for the wordpress.com site to be redirected to my domain or can I not have my host direct to the wordpress.com site??

  I don’t want the xxxxxx.wordpress.com path either?

  can I just purchase the redirect option to my own website so the wordpress.com doesn’t appear in the link??

  Yes you can easily do that , if you have your domain registered with some other host you can just map the domain , or if you want to freshly register is you can do as well, here is the guide which can help you

  Thanks for the information. I am trying to work and build this web site initially but intend to use WordPress to build other sites as well so excellent.

  so I can take it my wordpress site will be redirected from test.wordpress.com to test.co.uk and user will access and see test.co.uk as the link??

  and the price remains similar each year for the redirection?

  Yes , your url will be test.co.uk , it will depend on the plan you choose , and plans may change , but the basic plan should be suitable for you , here is some information on plans ,

  Do you want your WordPress.com site to appear at your custom domain, or do you want traffic to your WordPress.com site to be redirected to a site somewhere else at a different domain?

  If you want the first, you need the domain mapping upgrade that is included in all our paid plans:

  Use a Domain You Already Own (Domain Mapping)

  If you want the second you need the Site Redirect upgrade:
