Moving to a premium or business plan, how are their CPU cycle limits?
-
Hi, I have a self-hosted WP site. It’s rather large, about 3-4000 visits a day and a few thousand articles in the archives, enough so that my CPU cycles have driven me to ever larger and dedicated hosting plans. On a medium-priced sharing plan, CPU cycles are around 400 minutes a day, sometimes as high as 600. MySQL goes up to 10 minutes, as well.
Would the premium or business plans handle such a load? I wouldn’t want to move it to wordpress.com and then deal with limits.
Thank you!

I guess WordPress.com can easily accommodate the load. According to the WordPress Status support document,
WordPress.com runs on thousands of servers located in several separate data centers in different parts of the US and around the world.

Thank you, but again, 15,000 dollars a month is a bit steep. Icm trying to keep costs down. I just need a simple, technical answer for what I asked. Yes or no, can a peemium or business plan handle the load I described above.

@mihneadumitru, while I don’t know the CPU cycle limits for each server, I can tell you plenty of sites on our servers get heavy traffic without any trouble.
Part of that is our load balanced infrastructure. Part of it is that we’re very careful about the code that is allowed on our servers. And part of that is that we have whole teams of folks working to keep everything optimized and running smoothly. If you’re still having trouble with optimization after all of that, we can take a look to see what steps we’d recommend to help.
