Moving to a self-hosted blog: how to keep comment nesting/threading?

  Hi,
  I’m currently testing the possibility to export my blog (hosted at wp.com but with a domain mapping) to a self-hosted site.
  I’ve done several tests exporting and importing the contents of the site.
  Everything works fine however, I’ve noticed that, even if all the comments are correctly imported into the new site using the import plugin, the nesting/threading is lost.
  This makes reading a comment thread extremely difficult.

  Is there a fix?
