Moving to selfhosted questions/concerns

Hi everyone,
I am sure this has been answered before, but I am unable to located the specific answer which I am looking for.
I love wordpress.com, but I would like to have more control over design layout and a few things like that so I am considering moving my blog to a self hosted wordpress.org … Few questions..
1) A great deal of my traffic comes from the “explore topics” in the reader section; since I will be using the wordpress plugin, will my blog still appear on there?
2) the jetpack widget will allow for followers to transfer, but I will I still be able to “follow” the blogs which I am currently following?

The Explore Topics section only displays blogs hosted here at WordPress.com. If you move your blog to a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, your blog posts will no longer appear in this section. You can read more about how Topics work here: Topics

You are welcome to continue using your WordPress.com account to log in to the Reader and follow blogs here! You can also export your subscriptions from the Edit Blogs I Follow page if you want to move to a different method of following blogs. However, the Jetpack plugin does not include a Reader like the one you have here at WordPress.com — you can find out more about what is included in Jetpack here: http://jetpack.me/
