Moving to WordPress-MX records remained pointed to Rackspace

  Hi, I am looking to change from Jimdo to WordPress, but need to have my email service unchanged from Rackspace. How would I go about doing this?

  Hi, no problem at all. Here’s what I’d recommend:

  – Ensure you’re keeping your account live with Rackspace so the email will still work :)

  – Set up a subdomain (or two) like mx.yourdomain.com or mail.yourdomain.com. Point the A records to your Rackspace server(s).

  – Add MX records pointing to those subdomains

  You can do all of that in the DNS settings here prior to actually pointing the name at our servers, as needed. You’ll just need to have your account set up, add the domain, and then hold off on changing its name servers until you’re ready. This will also buy you time to ensure the site is set up here.
