Moving to WordPress.com and want to transfer my domain!
-
So im going to move my site from a wordpress.org installation to wordpress.com. I have already exported all the posts etc.
I want to move my domain to the my new site on wordpress.com. How does that work when i already have a working domain on another hosting company. Is it possible to transfer the domain to wordpress.com? Will wordpress.com manage the domain or should i just do a redirect of the domain from my current hosting to my new wordpress.com site?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi taimasphat,
You can keep your domain name with your current registrar. You’ll need to follow these instructions to use a domain you already own with your WordPress.com site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

Hi,
If i want to transfer my current domain to wordpress.com, do i really need to buy the premium plan?
Im more interested in the personal plan. Booth seems to be supporting custom domains. But under the payment process, it automatically forces me to buy the premium. -

You should be able to use domain mapping with the Personal plan.
Please try going to My Site > Plan and choosing the Personal plan there.
Once you’ve upgraded to the Personal plan you should be able to purchase domain mapping by following these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

Just to be very clear, at this time it’s not possible to transfer your domain to us, so for now you can only connect it here using domain mapping.
