    Hi,

    I’m a WordPress.com Premium customer, but I want to move to WordPress.org.

My domain and hosting package is via WordPress.com.

    Questions:

    • Can I cancel my account or move easily?
    • Can I host on WordPress.com yet design or WordPress.org?

    HELP!!?!?!?!?!?!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
    Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

Thanks TimeThief, but I have read all that information.

It still doesn’t answer my question or whether i can use my wordpress.com hosting to install wordpress.org. I’m guessing not?!?

Thing is I’ve just paid for the year (ending September 2016) yet my designer told me I should move.

Is it possible to cancel and get my money back and then start up with Bluehost or someone else?

    No is the answer.

    Yes.

As you already have a domain I tagged this thread with modlook for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.

Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

Yeah thats the problem the WordPress.com site was set up Oct 16, 2014 and the last renewal was Sep 3, 2015.

I guess that means I’m stuck until September 2016????

You’re not stuck, but I wouldn’t recommend canceling your upgrade at this time. You should instead follow this guide to point your domain to Bluehost or elsewhere.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

That guide will also show you some of the other options you have.

Let us know once you’ve made the necessary changes, and we can update your account, so that moving forward you’re only charged for the domain name.

    Hi Chris,

I’m more worried about having to pay for my account until the September 2016? If I move to Blue Host or elsewhere I will pay for hosting with them after already paid for the WordPress.com Prem account.

Is there anyway you can give me some money back if I move to another hosting account (Blue Host or elsewhere)?

We can only offer a refund within 30 days of purchase. Unfortunately, it’s been too long for us to be able to offer a refund.
