Moving to wordpress.org question
-
Hi, I have just migrated across to wordpress.org and im currently building my site on my local server. I already have a hosting account and im about to go live with my site shortly. My question is when i do go live what will stop people from being directed to my wordprees.com blog and instead go to my domain that is self hosted site on wordpress.org? I havent actually used my wordpress.com blog and there is currently no content there, can i just delete it and use my self hosted only?
Any help would be much appreciated..

If there is no content on your wp.com site, then search engines will not be directing anyone there.
You can use that account to install JetPack on your wp.org site if you like.
And I think you can even set that account to “private” and still use JetPack. Another volunteer correct me if I’m mistaken?

Ok Thanks, But what do visitors see when the site is set to private as it is at the moment? is it just a default page or something?

At the moment this is what is displayed when the url is opened http://atorrentlife.com
I dont want anything to do with my domain linked to my wordpress.com blog..
