Moving users from .com to .org

Ultimately, I’d like a one-stop-shop solution to move everything from my .org to .com. But I’m not sure there is a solution like that.

I’ve tried the “export” and then “import” feature, but it doesn’t move users. Therefore, all the content gets put under the default “admin” user on my .org site.

Does anyone know a way to export/import the users?

Or…does anyone have a good solution for moving everything over at once?

    sigh

Please help me to understand. Are you moving from WordPress.com to WordPress.org or the other way around? You mention one way in your subject and another in the post.

If you are moving from WordPress.com to WordPress.org then the Guided Transfer would be a great solution for you. Everything moved and handled for you.

Sorry about that…I seemed to have mixed them up in the post! LOL

    It is .com to .org

I’ll check out the “Guided Transfer”, but I’ve yet to find a solution that will do everything. Perhaps this will be the one.

I just read over what is included in the “Guided Transfer” and the DIY guide as well. Neither of them say that they move the users over.

I want to make sure that when the content (posts) are moved, that they keep their respective authors with them.

    Pls advise

I have never used Guided Transfer, so I cannot say for certain, but I am fairly certain that you can get all the users created on the new WordPress.org site.
