Moving WordPress Blog to HostGator
-
I purchased the extinctionblues.com domain name via wordpress, but I want to install a Pagelines theme (http://pagelines.com/), and since wordpress doesn’t allow custom themes, I then bought hosting on HostGator after they told me I could run WordPress and install Pagelines. I was told by HostGator to change name servers and point the domain to my hostgator account (two addresses they provided me) – how do I go about doing this? What else do I need to do move my site? Sorry if my lingo is off, I just want to be able to use this pagelines theme and although I am well versed with technology I’m lacking in website admin skills. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. This support documentation provides the basic steps to move any existing WordPress.COM content to a WordPress.ORG blog, and gives links to related procedures:

I’m not sure if thats what I’m looking to do, are you saying once I move my site to wordpress.org I can use a custom theme or I have to move it to wordpress.org once its hosted by hostgator and then I can use the custom theme?? Sorry, just very confused.
