Moving WordPress blog to old domain

  I’m confused. I have a web site that is hosted by GoDaddy and I have my own domain registered with another company. Due to Microsoft no longer supporting my web building program, I’m having to replace the old site with something new. I am wanting to replace it with a new site/blog using WordPress. Do I still need to host through GoDaddy or can I cancel that account and use the domain mapping feature on my WordPress account to connect to the domain registrar?

  You can set up a WordPress site here (WordPress.com) or at GoDaddy. If you choose to do it here, you can drop the GoDaddy hosting and use the domain mapping feature.
