Moving wordpress.org domain but keeping dashboard

    If I connect (mywebsite.org) domain to squarespace, can I still login the wp dashboard (mywebsite.org/wp-admin)? There is a lot of content that I still need access to. Because (mywebsite.org/wp-admin) will take me to squarespace page, right? Please advise.

    Hi there,

    You’re posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. We can only help with sites hosted on our servers, or domains registered with us here.

    But to answer your question, once your domain is pointed to Squarespace, it will no longer be pointing to your WordPress site on your hosting provider’s server, so you will no longer be able to use that domain to access your site’s dashboard. In fact, unless your hosting provider offers a temporary or staging domain you can revert to, pointing your domain to Squarespace will effectively lock you out of your WordPress site, so you should only do that once you are ready to take your WordPress site offline and delete it from your current host’s servers.
