Moving WordPress site from test URL

  I have created a WordPress website using a URL like this http://www.example.com/test

  I now want to get rid of the /test and move it to http://www.example.com

  Can I do this in the WordPress settings or will I lose all the work I’ve done on http://www.example.com/test and will I have to go through all the pages I’ve created and remove /test from the URL?
