Moving wordpress.com blog to godaddy hosting?
-
I am having a really hard time trying to move my wordpress.com blog to paid hosting with godaddy. I have it set up with godaddy as linux hosting and dloaded the wordpress application etc. I grabbed the export xml file from wordpress.com in my dashboard and now I am stuck. I have no clue where to put this xml file with all my info. Godaddy does not seem to know how to do this and I cannot figure it out – anyone know where this goes? When I installed the wordpress app in godaddy hosting it created a wordpress folder – but don’t know where to place the file now.

On your new blog dashboard you go to manage > import and select “wordpress” and then follow the instructions. It will bring up a window where you can select the file from where it is now stored on your computer. If the file is over 2mb in size, you might need to look over at the link delta gave you for information on increasing the maximum upload size.
