Moving wordpress.com blog to wordpress.org or self hosting
-
Hi, I was thinking about starting blogging again soon and was wondering if it is possible to move a wordpress.com blog to wordpress.org or if self hosting would give the same options as doing a blog on wordpress.org such as more options available to your blog, etc.?
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s interesting seeing articles on posts and switching servers it sounds like it is mostly worth it when someone has a steady stream of 1,000 or more readers a day. Interesting. Guess it could pay to stay on wordpress.com for a while and see what putting out fresh content regularly can do.

I strongly recommend learning how to use WordPress.com software inside out and having 1500 subscribers before you make the move. There is support at WordPress.org but it’s not the long suffering, hand-holding support like you get here. You will be expected to read the flapping manual ie. the codex if you thread is responded to at all. Note also that the SEO will not be as good as it is here when you do move the blog, regardless of how many SEO plugins you use.
