moving wordpress.org site to wordpress.com
-
Hi,
I have begun to set up a wordpress site for a load gardening group and am really a complete newby at this. I had originally set up a wordpress site on .com, and then decided that, as a former programmer, I would be looking for more control over the site, and so I downloaded wordpress and installed it locally on my own machine. While beginning development I was also considering where to host the site, and as the cost was a consideration I thought again about hosting the finished site on wordpress.com (I hope this isn’t too confusing). I found this help page :http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/ which suggests i could and worked through the process. The result can be seen on my blog page, loggroup. When I have followed the steps under Moving from WordPress.org the file uploaded but does not have the original theme (i know this was not a theme available on wordpress.com).
I have not been able to carry out this step: 2. After you upload the file, you can choose the option to Download & import file attachments if you want to move your media files. because there are no instructions on how to do it.
Firstly, is it really possible to do what I am trying to do and, secondly, if so, what am i doing wrong?
I’m not sure if I have written this very clearly so feel free to clarify points with me, thanks.

We do not provide support for local installs of wordpress.org software on this forum. We provide support only for free hosted wordpress.com blogs. You will need to register a username account on the top right hand corner of this page http://wordpress.org and post all your support questions there.
