moving WP to another server and keeping the old one

  Friend of mine asked me to copy his WP site to another server under totally different name. I copied folders and files to hard drive and than on new server. created database and imported database from old site to have all the posts and stuff like that together. Everything works fine with new site but I he needs the old one to be accessible as well. Now its not. when I type the address of the old site it will let me only on welcome screen….after I choose some of the posts, I being redirected to new site . wp admin redirects straightly to new site so I can,t login to the old one.
  It might heve something to do with .htaccsess , but no idea what the code should look like.
  somebody got an idea?
