MP3 from esnips.com
-
Hello
I opened an account at esnips.com and uploaded mp3 files. I created a player widger per their instructions and pasted it to my blog. But the player isn’t shown. Instead, there’s a link to the mp3 hosted on esnips. I really want the player to play and not just a link. Can anybody tell me why it doesn’t work like it should?
Thanks.

I don’t see it on your blog. What’s the code that you’re trying to add in? It’s probably a javascript or ebbed of some sort. Those are stripped due to security concerns.
If esnips gives you a direct link to your mp3 file, you can follow these instructions for putting the audio player into a post. Won’t work for the sidebar.

Here’s the link to the post:
To try it out, I did it both ways: I copied the code into the WP player, but it’s just stuck on buffering and doesn’t play anyhting.
Beneath it I pasted the code directly from esnips.com. what I should’ve seen is their cool blue player. But what I got is a lame link to their website where you can hear the song.
I saw there was another thread on an issue resembeling this, but to tell you the truth, I didn’t make head or tails of it.

You need to put the URL for the file in there, not the widget.

The widget is flash. It won’t work here at wp.com since it’s a security risk.

The player has been removed from the post so I can’t look at it.
TT, that wouldn’t matter in this case since the poster is trying to use teh offsite URL in the audio player.

It doesn’t seem to be linked to the actual mp3 file. What is the URL of the media file exactly?

The URL Dr Mike gave you was only a partial one; you need the URL of the MP3 itself, on the esnips site, all the way to the final “.MP3”. Grab that and put it in your player and it should work (unless esnips somehow bans hotlinking, but I don’t think they do).

There is no final MP3 file. The link Dr. Mike gave was as deep as it goes, at least as far as I can tell. I click on the MP3 in my folder, and this is what I get. This no Flash thing is really lame, but I guess there are good reasons for that. It’s just that I’m wasting too much time on technical issues here at WordPress and not enough time on actually writing and posting, and that’s somewhat frustrating. Thanks for your help.

To use the MP3 with the WordPress player, you definitely need the actual MP3 URL.
Try this?
[audio src="http://www.esnips.com/doc/f6fed2d6-b163-4fe2-9e7d-30313d81108f/Frou-Frou—Let-Go.mp3" /] -

salamandrine is right: you need to host the MP3 at esnips and us the URL of that MP3 in the WordPress.com audio player, according to the instructions in the FAQ. Also, it’s always easier to help you if you can give us a link to your blog. Don’t make us guess at the URL: we’re lazy.

I found a way to play music from esnips with the wordpress audio player: just search for the download link @ esnips, copy the location-address of the download link and add it in your blog like [audio LINK]. That should work!

sorry for that bullshit … it only worked because I had the esnips file in my cache!
so just forget it
