MS Word

Is there anyone who, like I do, writes blogs with complicated formatting on MS Word and then copies and pastes on WordPress to post? If so, do you too struggle with incompatible formatting between MS Word and WordPress? Is there a way around this?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes,quite recently another WordPress.com site owner posted here about a change that occurred in Word itself.

You can read that person’s reply in their forum post, Point 2 https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/was-the-power-paste-functionality-recently-removed-from-the-classic-editor/#post-4074498

Hi, I’m the person who began the other thread. I’ve been meaning to come back and update it after I touched base with WordPress directly. Unfortunately, the fix that I thought had worked (to stop the format loss when pasting from Word into the Classic Editor) appears not to always work, because I had line spacing loss when I was doing a live test. :-(

The good news is that I know that WordPress it looking into this and also a possibly-related issue that happens when Word content is pasted into the Block Editor. It’s not quite the same issue but it may be related.

@hennielagrange, are you using the Classic Editor or the Block Editor? (I use the Classic)

If you are using the Block Editor, are you using the “Classic Block” when you paste from Word?

What I find when I paste from Word to the Classic EDITOR is that the paste retains the bold and italics, but loses the line spacing that I have created in Word. A question: If you go into Word and then look at your Paragraph settings, what are they? Mine are like this; are yours the same?
