  hi I was wondering about the mshot project….do you know where I can find more information in regards to this?

  mShots haven’t been active on WordPress.com for quite some time. We don’t have any concrete plans on whether we’ll be bringing them back or not.

  Hi, thanks for the reply….there are a couple of plugins made on wordpress.org….

  such as

  http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/snap-a-site/
  http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-snap/
  http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mshots/

  I believe they are using mshot….as part of
  https://s-ssl.wordpress.com/wp-content/plugins/mshots

  It works really well.

  However, I don’t feel safe about it in regards to the issues of it not being “really” active.
  As I would not want to see blank images one day because it was really deactivated.

  In reality, I was hoping to find some script or plugin that can help me generate my own webshots on my wordpress site so that it can be saved on my server….

  Any guidance or point of directions would be greatly appreciated.

  Well, plugins and scripts can’t be installed on a WordPress.com blog, so really you have nothing to worry about unless we someday start offering mshots on WordPress.com again.

  I suppose so, though I’d have to question why those plugins are using our script. Considering that, there’s a strong possibility that they may stop working some day.
