Multi-Language and Multi-Site – which is better?

My company has a website built in WordPress. We used to have several HTML pages for the various languages around the globe and the English website was redesigned last year by an outside company. It was then turned over to the IT team to manage. Now the other global sites want to mimic the US page by having it converted into their own language. I have been investigating this and am curious as to whether it is better to use a plugin to convert the posts or whether I should do multi-site?

The one strange caveat is that on one company the company has a different name and logo. Same products though. Since the logo resides in the global settings would I have to do a multi-site for that one location (so it could have a separate logo) but use a plugin for the other languages?

I am a wordpress newbie so this is very overwhelming to me.

    Hi dcrockettjr,

These forums are focused on helping users with their WordPress.com blogs, so if you have a WordPress.org blog, you may have better luck asking in the WordPress.org support forums.

For the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may wish to read the support article here:
