Multi Vendor ecommerce website with recurring payment with chat rooms
-
Hi,
I am trying to create a Multi Vendor ecommerce website with recurring payment with chat rooms.
So the website allows users to buy and sell their products on the website, but that option should only be allowed if the user is paying the monthly fee which is at $5. With that being said, the user need to have an account, and to create and have an account, should be free, but as soon as you want to buy something from the website, you need to pay the monthly fee. The website should also have the option to chat with other users, but only if the user is paying the monthly fee.
But, im not sure how to create this, what plugins i should use for all of this, and even if it’s possible to create this. Is there anyone that can give me som kind of guide to build this? -
Hi there –
Thanks for writing to us. We can definitely help you get this project moving.
The first thing is to get your hosting plan sorted. The different options are visible on https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Building a store will require that you’re using our business or ecommerce option so you can integrate the requested features. Those plans can be purchased on a monthly or annual basis. The yearly option has a good savings. The plan is refundable for 30 days.
We also have a team who specializes in helping you to build the site. Those details can be found on https://builtbywp.com/

Hi,
Thank you for the answer. I would like to try to build this site my self, and i am of course going to buy one of your plans. I was wondering if there was anyone that could kind of guide be through the process? Or do i need to contact your team to create this for me, in order to get help?

Thanks for clarifying. Our Business or eCommerce plans (which would be required as mentioned above) include priority support including live chat access to our team 24/7, so we can answer any questions you have.
Since WooCommerce is our product (it’s owned by the same company that owns WordPress.com) we also provide WooCommerce support if you are using that plugin. WooCommerce does not include multi-vendor functionality so that usually needs to be added via a plugin.
If you use our plugin here, then support for that plugin will also be included: https://woocommerce.com/products/product-vendors/
Please note that WooCommerce (and WordPress itself) is an open platform, so other companies we’re not related to can develop plugins and themes that work on our system. There are other companies that offer multivendor plugins that will work with WooCommerce, but if you use those we are not able to extend our support to 3rd party uploads since we are not familiar with how they created and coded their plugin.
In that event you may find you need to turn to the plugin provider for support about your multi-vendor questions, and could ask us about your general WordPress/WooCommerce questions. Either way you would have support options to help you as you create your site.
So the website allows users to buy and sell their products on the website, but that option should only be allowed if the user is paying the monthly fee
Wanted to also add that this functionality is not built in to WooCommerce, but as with multi-vendors, can be added via a plugin that extends WooCommerce: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-memberships/
This plugin would allow you to restrict purchasing, which means that products are public, but only members can buy them.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

What about the chat room function? Would i need a plugin for that too? Or is it integrated with WooCommerce?

Hello there,
That would require an additional plugin, a collection can be found here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/chat/
I hope this helps.

Okay, if i were to write to ur team about building this website, do you have any idea of how long it could take, and how much it could cost?
-
Hi there,
For an eCommerce store to be built, our prices normally start at $4000, and how long it takes to build depends on many factors, particularly how much content are you needing to add to the site. It would be worth reaching out to the team with what you want to build and getting more details on what they could do:
We have a standard do-it-for-me service that is $499 and usually takes four days to create, but that doesn’t include eCommerce/store integration.
https://wordpress.com/do-it-for-me/
Hope this helps.
