For example, how to tag: Eagle Ridge?

    Is it: eagle ridge,next,tag

    or is it: eagle,ridge,next,tag

    or is it: “eagle ridge”,next,tag

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Eagle Ridge, British Columbia, Canada (the comma goes between tags)

Because it’s a compound word that’s an extremely common place name also consider including the County, State/Province, and/or Country as tags . Also note in a recent video Matt Cutts pointed out that it’s really not necessary to use every possible combination like wasting a tag on reversing the words like ridge eagle …

In the post tag module add:
eagle ridge, another tag for your post, another tag, and so on…
ie: eagle ridge, next tag, yet another tag Ú

Global tag search links will look like this:
    http://en.wordpress.com/tag/eagle-ridge/
(which you can check out now!
Checking out your tags may help you decide which ones to use.)

    Look at
    http://en.wordpress.com/tag/eagle/ or
    http://en.wordpress.com/tag/ridge/
and think if either of those matches what you are posting about!

Those global tags are the sort of thing that search engines use (if they are relevant to your posts).

I might even go so far as to tag a post “eagle ridge motor cycle trails”

If I were interested in motor cycling in eagle ridge, that’s what I’d search for!

    ~~timethief :-))

    Agree.
Search engines have certainly become much more sophisticated (smarter!!) since early days of the interweb…
