Multi-year renewal of custom domain

  • Unknown's avatar

We are considering adding a custom domain but would like to do so, up-front, for five years rather than just one year. This is not listed as an option but the grapevine – https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-pay-in-advance-for-4-years-of-domain-mapping?replies=7 – suggests a ‘workaround’ exists. How do we get around this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there!

We currently only offer 1-year registrations on new domain names. The thread you linked to refers to mapping a domain that the user already owned. In addition, we review all of these types of requests on a case-by-case basis.

In this instance I would recommend registering the domain for one year and making sure auto-renew is enabled under Store -> My Upgrades. That way as long as your payment information is up to date, you won’t have to worry about it!

We will remind you prior to the renewal if we need you to update any information and we will process the renewal 30 days before the expiration date just in case there are any issues.

I hope that clarifies things! Let me know if you have any questions.
