Multilingual site how to?

  Hi!
  I want to create a site that has multi language feature. Like this site:
  https://www.athgene.com/ – but that site is built with WIX, and I do not want to use that tool.
  But I want to use WP, and I have not been able to find resources – so please any suggestions?

  Hi there!

  There are several options to set up a multilingual site on your WordPress.com :-)

  The instructions for it are here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/set-up-a-multilingual-blog/

  The only thing you need to do is manually translate your site’s content.

  Basically, I have written this post in English: https://my-pakistani-dream.com/2016/10/03/honeymoon/ then translated it into Polish https://my-pakistani-dream.com/2016/10/05/miesiac-miodowy/ but had to post them as two separate posts, which I didn’t want to do – I wanted to add a Polish language version button but this is exactly what I don’t know how to do.

  Hi there!

  I’ve tried it and it works :-)
  You need to Edit your Honeymoon post.

  At the end of it (or wherever you want) insert link (the shortcut it’s behind “Numbered list” on the Keyboard shortcuts).

  You can insert link to your post “Miesiąc miodowy” and call it whatever you like, in the guide there is “This links to my anchor”, for you it can be “Polish translation”. You can do it both ways :-)

  Hmm, this still isn´t what I´m looking for.

  See fx this site – it is a WP site, and has the simple lang. feature in the top right corner, it looks simple, but how is it done? :

  Hi vrekker!

  The site you linked is indeed a WordPress site, but it’s self-hosted. They used a Polylang plugin to create a multilingual site. WordPress.com doesn’t allow plugins for security reason on any plan. You can read more about plugins on WordPress.com here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

  And you can read about differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  The third option from this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/set-up-a-multilingual-blog/ is the closest solution to match what you want to get. It looks like it’s more complicated to sort out at the very beginning but it’s not, and many users said that it’s more functional for both – blog owner and readers.

  Also you can always let the Staff know, that this kind of plugin could be beneficial for WordPress.com community, as you can read about it in the bottom of the guide about plugins I’ve linked you above. Perhaps someday it will be available in WordPress.com :-)
