Multiple account with same email address?

I believe that I may have two accounts that use the same email address. When I attempted to post a comment using my account, it indicated that I was trying to post a comment using my email address, and need to login as that account instead. Password reset attempts just hit the main (known) account.

It looks like the site you linked to above is not hosted on WordPress.com, so it is entirely possible that you are referring to a self hosted install of WordPress, and the second account using the same email address on a WordPress.com account, which you would need if your using certain functions of jetpack on your self hosted site.
To make things even more merry, when you have a WordPress.com account, you automatically have a Gravatar account, which will then require you to log in with your WordPress.com account any time you want to comment with your Gravatar. http://en.gravatar.com/geostock10
Since I feel like I’ve just painted myself into a corner, I’m also going to ask Staff to confirm what I’ve just posted.

The blog linked above is not hosted on wordpress.com, true. That is not, however, the blog I was attempting to post on. That was, instead, http://ardwulfslair.wordpress.com/.
I am and was logged in to my wordpress.com account in order to comment (the top title bar showed me, and my avatar there). When I put in the comment, it asked for my email address/name/etc, and offered the “quicklogin” button of wp.com, facebook and twitter. Clicking the wp.com icon filled in the info and just left me with the submit button.
Clicking on that brought me a screen indicating “You are attempting to leave a comment using the email ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)” (correct), and indicating I needed to be logged in with that email address. I logged in again and tried again, same result. So then I thought I could find out if there was a duplicate account by using the “forgot password” link and used that same email address. I received the email, but it still had the same account listed.
thank you both for your advice. I believe I have followed all process correctly, but there remains some reason that attempting to leave a comment with that email flags an error for some reason.

@geostock10: the email address you reference above is the one used by your geostock10 account. You don’t have another account using that same email address.
From what you are describing, it sounds like it might be a browser issue. Could you please try leaving a comment using an alternative browser (Firefox/Chrome)? If you are already logged into wordpress.com and are viewing a blog post, the comment form should show you as logged in (you would see your Gravatar and an option to log out below the comment form).

I was using Firefox (still am), and did see the comment form changes you describe. I will attempt this again using Chrome a bit later this evening and let you know how that goes.
