Multiple accounts

  I have a website on WP hosted by Hostinger but I can’t login directly via WP (don’t know the user name and password). In an effort to try and do it I ended up creating new accounts with 2 different emails, but neither has my correct website linked to them. I need to find out which one is the correct account and delete the other ones. How do I do that?

  Hi there!

  Can you share the address of the site you’re trying to log into?

  Please note a WordPress site hosted elsewhere uses the WordPress.org software and it’s different from a WordPress.com site/account. You’d need to log into the site directly by entering /wp-admin at the end of your site’s address. If your password doesn’t work, you will see the option to reset the password.

  If you’re unable to reset the password for the WordPress.org site to log into, please contact your hosting service provider (which sounds like Hostinger in this case). As the site is hosted by them, they have the necessary access to help you get back into your account.

  So that means I can delete both WordPress.com accounts I accidentally created? If I do so my official website hosted by a third party (WordPress.org) won’t be affected?

  So long as the original website is hosted elsewhere, any deletions made here at WordPress.com wouldn’t affect it.
