Multiple Authors?
-
I was wondering, if two people worked on an article together, I see only an option to list one author… can I list two?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Yes you can have additional authors/users with a variety of roles.
See > http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

@biofare
One way I can think of for you to accomplish that is to ‘make an author’ with both names.
‘Jacob Realo and Brianna Tramontano’ -

@bioare
Each blog post published automatically displays name of the author and Tess has explained how to show more than one in the byline.You may also want to consider using the Authors widget in your sidebar. The authors widget is a good way to list the authors of your blog with a link to a page listing all of the their posts.

@timethief,
I haven’t used the authors’ widget, but maybe you know: does it automatically display all the authors? In that case, the 2 author name would appear. Or can you select which authors you want to display? -
Click the support link :)
Display all authors – If you do not want to show authors that haven’t published yet, leave this box unchecked. If you want to show all authors, check it.
-
Right. Step ! check Support.
So the 2-name author would show up as soon as a post was published.The original poster is now using a text widget to display authors and contact information for each and that would continue to function with a 2-name author…
He could use a little help using a table to make the pictures and contact links align properly though.

You can switch to a theme that doesn’t display the author in the post metadata (see here: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/ ), and add the credit to both authors in the post itself.

@Panos
I agree that what you suggest is the easiest way to achieve what biofare wants. He may also want to use the Author’s widget as well. If not then he can create a Category for each Author by name and have the authors assign the appropriate category (ie. their name) to the posts they author. That will also allow readers to locate all posts by the same author or authors by clicking on the Category. -
@tt: Yes, the alternative is author/authors as post categories – again with a theme that doesn’t display the author under the post title.
-
Yes but I made a staff widget with using the photos, when clicking on them leads them to the staff articles, their name is hyperlinked to their e-mail. The author widget did not give me the results I was looking for

@colleagues
Big smile to you, but the OP says,
“but I want to list two authors in the “by:author” spot” -
@biofare
Never mind the abundance of possibilities, points of view and what-all we all are telling you, but if you want to continue with your text widget list of authors:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/multiple-authors-7?replies=14#post-438093do you want help to make the alignments of pics and links?
(as in Jacob Realo & Brianna Tramontano names/links are not below their photos in Safari)
