Multiple Authors in single blog post

  I am starting a new blog on wordpress.com in which the main idea is to collaborate heavily with 4 other co-authors. While some posts while be sole-authored, many posts will be written together. While I have found a plugin that would do exactly what I intend (co-authors plus, at http://wordpress.org/plugins/co-authors-plus/) it is only available for wordpress.org . Basically, all that would be required is that in the author options when drafting a post (which does exist and is found by checking the “authors” option in the “screen options” tab in the post editing page) to allow for more than one author to be selected for a particular post.

  Is this currently possible on wordpress.com? If not, this seems like a simple and very useful plugin to add to worpress.com sites.

  No. This is not currently possible at WordPress.COM as there is no FTP access to our blogs and no blogger installed plugin capability.

  Thanks timethief for your quick reply. I was afraid of this being the case.

  Do your know if this feature has been a popular request for wordpress.com sites? Just curious in order to gauge if there is any chance of it being implemented soon or not.

  What you can do is create an Authors Category and then create sub-categories under each authors name.

  Yeah, I had read the first thread you mentioned earlier today, and since its a few years old I figured it was worth asking to see if something new had come up. Sadly it hasn’t but I’ll keep wishing! In the meantime, your second link does seem like a good idea. I’ll try that and see how it works out!
