Multiple blogs – can I have different user/author names and/or profiles?

    Hi,

I have three blogs here on wordpress.com. I would love to have different author names displayed in the postings, but if I change the name in my profile it will affect all blogs.

So my question would be if there is some way to have different names/profiles for different blogs. Alternatively, how can I hide the author name in my blog postings? I knew how to do it if I could access the source code for the template, but since I can’t do this here, any ideas? (I’ve seen that some blogs hosted on wordpress.com have no author displayed in the postings, hence my question.)

    Thanks,

    Sonja

To credit multiple authors on a blog these are the options available for you to choose from.

    (1) You can choose a theme that provides for and displays individual authors. There are theme reviews that can assist you in determining if a theme provides this “authors” feature. Look in the section titled “Display post author”.
    http://internetducttape.com/tools/wordpress/wordpress-theme-reviews/

    (2) If the theme you prefer to use does not this feature then you can create a category called “Authors” as a “parent” category and then create “children” (Tom, Dick, Harry) sub-categories for each author’s name under the parent category Authors.

    (3) Or if neither of the above options are suitable then you can have each author include a byline in the posts they create.

    Happy blogging! :)

Thanks, but the problem is not that my theme does not support an author. In fact, it does. All themes I use for my three blogs display the author name.

I see that my description was not clear enough. Let’s assume, on blog 1 the name ‘XXX’ is displayed when I make a posting. (BTW, I am the only author in all my blogs, so multiple authors is no problem either.)

What if I want my other blogs not to display ‘XXX’ as author, but ‘YYY’ or ‘ZZZ’, while still having ‘XXX’ on blog 1, and without having to change the theme I currently use on any of my blogs?

Again, there are no multiple authors on my blogs – I am the only author for all three blogs.

I could probably create three accounts on wordpress.com, but I would rather prefer to have all my blogs under one account/profile.

I have also seen that some blogs do not have any author names displayed – I am pretty sure that the themes they use support author names. I was therefore wondering what these people did in order to hide or remove the author name from postings.
