Multiple Blogs – different Themes

  Hello,

  I have a second blog site set up under my main one. If I activate a new Theme on the second one does it affect my main blog?

  I want to have to different themes…is that possible?

  Hello,
  Every free hosted WordPress.com blog is separate and can have a different them. You can find details on theme here Themes Showcase and you can select and activate a theme on each blog separately here > Appearance > Themes. When the thumbnail image of the theme you want displays click “activate”.

  That’s incorrect. Appearance > Themes has thumbnails of themes already installed under the first tab Manage Themes. Under the 2nd tab Install Themes you have search form that can find themes by keyword, author or tag (unsure of the diff between keyword/tag?). I’ve found the search to be useless in locating themes.

  The Help dialog mentions using the Theme Brower/Installer. Nowhere is there a browser. The themes that show up when using the preconfigured filters like “newest” show a theme released in early June ’11. The documentation is wrong and your information, which seems to come from WordPress’s documentation, is wrong also.

  Can anyone fix this issue so we WordPress theme users can browse and install different themes? Thank you!

  Answer: No, it does not. Each blog is separate and independent of the other.

  Question:

  I want to have to different themes…is that possible?

  Yes, you may select two different themes for the two blogs – one for each blog.

  I believe you are in the wrong forum. Are you aware that there are 2 very distinct and separate flavors of WordPress?
  .COM vs .ORG

  I’d guess that you have a self-hosted blog. Our platform is very different:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  On wp.COM the themes we can use are found as timethief has correctly described.
  On wp.ORG, you can upload themes from all sorts of places…

  You are correct; forgive me…my bad! I’ll mosey on over to wordpress.org. Goodbye, enjoy the themes you have here, much nicer than .ORG, imho.
