multiple blogs in one site

  Hello, I’m just wondering if I could create two blogs in one site.

  I have my own domain and am running two blogs at the moment using Typepad.

  Please let me know if I can move these blogs to wordpress, using the same domains.

  Hi there. You can have two blogs in the same account, i.e. under the same username, but each blog is a website on it’s own, thus it’s not possible to have two blogs on the same website. You can have as many free sites in your account as you want.

  First, register a free WordPress.com address for each blog you want to import. Then import the content from each of them using the Tools ->Import link in the dashboard (https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/). Please check Typepad’s support documents for instructions on how to generate the export file.

  You cannot transfer your domains to WordPress.com, so you’ll have to leave them with your current registrar, and then you buy the domain mapping upgrade here to connect those domains to your free WordPress.com sites. In other words, you’ll have to keep paying your current registrar for the domains AND you then pay WordPress.com for the domain mapping upgrades. Once you’ve transferred your content, though, you can cancel your hosting account with Typepad, if applicable.

  Thanks so much for your answer, kokkieh!

  Can I just ask one more question to confirm,
  so do I need to pay two of domain mapping upgrades?

  In Typepad, I had a paid account and I paid only one annual fee for the account that held two blogs, but it seems wordpress needs the upgrading fee for each blog/website, not for each account.

  Upgrades here work on a per-blog-per-year basis. So if you have two blogs and you want each blog to have its own custom domain, then you have to buy the domain mapping for each blog, yes.

  You can buy the domain mapping either as a standalone upgrade or as part of the Premium plan, but you buy it for each blog. You can read more about the Premium plan if interested at this link: https://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/
