Multiple Blogs on One Account
-
Hi! I have two different accounts with multiple blogs. I’d prefer to no longer useone of my accounts (as I have an old blog that is not in use on it) but I want to have two blogs under one account. When I went to change my name servers to point to one of my new blogs under one account, it pointed to the blog number 1 (naturallychelsea.com) instead of blog number 2 (artfullychelsea.com). I’m not sure if this is an issue with name server pointing (wrong names) or with having multiple blogs.
Any help that could be provided would be much appreciated!
Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey Chelsea!
I’m happy to help you clear this up. First, you’re currently writing from cschreinernd. Can you let me know the other username or just the email on the other account?
On the current account, you have two blogs:
naturalchelsea.wordpress.com with two domains – artfullychelsea.com and naturallychelsea.com
and
artfullychelseablog.wordpress.com
If I understand correctly, you would like the domain artfullychelsea.com to be moved to artfullychelseablog.wordpress.com. Is that correct?
-
Yes, that’s correct. I would also like to delete or make inactive my other account. The other account has the email (email visible only to moderators and staff)
On my other account (email I have just written) I created artfullychelsea.wordpress.com, then realized I could probably put both under my cschreiner.nd account. I then realized that I couldn’t re-use the artfullychelsea.wordpress.com so that’s why I added “blog” to the name. I’m not sure if I delete the artfullychelsea.wordpress.com blog if that name becomes unavailable for use and wipes out my other one?
Thanks for the response Jeremey!

No – if you delete a blog name, the blog name does not become available for use by another user. If you would like to keep artfullychelsea.wordpress.com and use it instead of artfullychelseablog.wordpress.com, you could transfer it from one account to the other following the instructions here:
So, you would need to login under your other account and transfer the blog to your cschreinernd account. Then, we could move the domain from artfullychelseablog.wordpress.com to artfullychelsea.wordpress.com. Does that make sense?
It’s really up to you whether you want to do this. Visitors will only see artfullychelsea.com.
I went ahead and moved the domain to artfullychelseablog.wordpress.com for the time being!

HI Jeremey. Thank you so much for doing that! Yes, it doesn’t matter to me what the blog is called, as long as the domain is pointed to artfullychelsea.com.
However, I am now having an issue where my domain for naturallychelsea.com is not pointing to naturallychelsea.wordpress.com.
This was my concern initially- can I not have two domains pointing to different blogs under one account?
Would the name servers just be slightly altered to allow this? I’m not sure how this works. If I can’t do this, I will keep my other account for my artfullychelsea.wordpress.com blog and delete the artfullychelseablog.wordpress.com blog under this account and only operate naturallychelsea under it.If you could clear this up for me I’d really appreciate it! You’ve been very helpful thus far. Thanks!

Hey Chelsea!
Please see below:
However, I am now having an issue where my domain for naturallychelsea.com is not pointing to naturallychelsea.wordpress.com.
The domain naturallychelsea.com is loading the site naturallychelsea.wordpress.com on my side. However, the primary domain on the account is set to naturallychelsea.wordpress.com meaning users will see that domain instead of naturallychelsea.com. You can change this here:
https://naturalchelsea.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
Can you switch the primary domain there and let me know if it fixes the issue for you?
This was my concern initially- can I not have two domains pointing to different blogs under one account?
You currently have this happening right now:
– Blog: naturalchelsea.wordpress.com with the domain naturallychelsea.com
– Blog: artfullychelseablog.wordpress.com with the domain artfullychelsea.com
However, the main issue is that the domain artfullychelsea.com isn’t pointed to WordPress.com just yet so it isn’t reflecting the content at artfullychelseablog.wordpress.com. Can you try changing the name servers on the domain as explained here?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#how-to-change-your-name-servers
That should help to solve this issue!

Hi Jeremy,
Thank you! I did what you said and now both of them work. It seemed as though before when one of them was corrected, the other wasn’t working as a result. Also, my internet connection I use for most of my work is subpar and has trouble loading, so I was getting a lot of error messages in trying to sort this out myself.
Thank you so much for your help :)
Kind Regards,
Chelsea
